SANTA MONICA — The Third Street Promenade just got a massive dose of turtle power. Fans of the iconic pop-culture franchise can now eat like their favorite heroes in a half-shell at the newly opened, officially licensed Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Pizzeria. This permanent, immersive dining experience marks a major collaboration between Paramount, Nickelodeon, and restaurateur Andy Nguyen, who previously launched successful fan-driven dining concepts for One Piece and Hello Kitty.

While the restaurant leans heavily into '90s nostalgia—complete with a wall of televisions playing the original animated cartoon, free-to-play classic arcade cabinets, and exclusive merchandise like custom skate decks—the kitchen takes its food incredibly seriously. To ensure a truly authentic New York-style slice on the West Coast, the team hired Brooklyn pizzaiolo Angelo Womack, a culinary veteran celebrated for his work at Roberta’s and Scarr's. The kitchen has even gone so far as to adjust the local water's pH levels to replicate traditional New York City pizza dough.

The carefully curated menu features eight signature pies that creatively nod to the franchise’s deep lore. Early crowd favorites include "Shredder’s Revenge," a spicy option loaded with jalapeños and Mike’s Hot Honey, and the "TCRI," which features a rich stracciatella cheese base drizzled with a bright green basil-oil "ooze."

The permanent installation is being viewed by local business leaders as a pivotal anchor for the ongoing economic revitalization of Santa Monica’s famous pedestrian shopping district. Following a packed soft-opening weekend that drew massive crowds and long lines of eager families and collectors, the pizzeria is now officially open daily to the public, offering a nostalgic, sensory-rich blast from the past for TMNT fans of all generations.
